ANGELA J. REDDOCK-WRIGHT

Named a “Top California Employment Lawyer” by the Daily Journal and one of Los Angeles’ “Most Influential Minority and Women Attorneys” by the Los Angeles Business Journal, Angela Reddock-Wright is a recognized employment and labor law attorney, workplace and Title IX investigator, mediator, arbitrator, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) professional.

Angela is the Founder and Managing Partner of the Reddock Law Group and has been a practicing attorney for more than 20 years. She also was a former employment and labor law litigator for more than 15 years. Ms. Reddock-Wright merges her experiences as a lawyer, business owner, elected and appointed government official, and volunteer in the civic and non-profit sectors to provide practical and powerful advice to clients across the business, political, educational, and non-profit landscapes.

As a workplace investigator, Ms. Reddock-Wright is retained by public and private sector employers to conduct independent and neutral investigations of workplace harassment, discrimination, and other claims. Having litigated two of the seminal university sorority hazing cases in recent history, Ms. Reddock-Wright also is retained by secondary and higher educational institutions to investigate Title IX sexual assault, bullying, and hazing cases.

Further, she serves as an expert witness on employment and labor law, Title IX, hazing, and bullying cases. Ms. Reddock-Wright has a certification as a workplace investigator through the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI-CH).

Additionally, Ms. Reddock-Wright is a sought-after mediator and arbitrator for litigated employment and labor law cases and other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Reddock works closely with clients
to implement innovative practices that create positive,
growth-oriented and conflict-free work environments.

She serves as a discovery referee, hearing officer, or fact finder for government and public sector civil service and personnel commission hearings, and as a facilitator for internal workplace conflicts. She is the President-Elect of the Southern California Mediation Association, and is an Associate Professor in the Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peace Building Program at California State University Dominguez Hills.

Ms. Reddock-Wright received a certification as a mediator from the Straus Institute at Pepperdine University School of Law, and is a member of the distinguished panel of arbitrators and mediators for the American Arbitration Association. She also is a volunteer mediator with the United States District Court, Central District, and serves as a Member of the Los Angeles County Equity Oversight Panel. She was a volunteer mediator for the Center for Conflict Resolution and the Los Angeles County Bar Association CRASH program for employment law cases.

Ms. Reddock-Wright also conducts regulatory compliance trainings on various topics, including “Preventing Harassment and Discrimination in the Workplace”; “Conducting Effective Workplace Investigations”; “Ethics for Human Resources and Legal Professionals”; and “Managing within the Law.”

She is a frequent presenter for the international investigations software firm I-Sight, and is an instructor in the business and human resources program for UCLA Extension.

Ms. Reddock-Wright has published numerous articles, and has been a legal commentator for several news and media outlets, including CNN, NBC-Channel 4, KTLA-Channel 5, KFWB News Radio, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Business Journal, Essence Magazine, People Magazine, and Law 360.

Elected and appointed government positions held by Ms. Reddock-Wright include: Panel Member, Los Angeles County Equity Oversight Panel; Trustee, Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees; Commissioner, Los Angeles Small Business Commission; Commissioner, City of Los Angeles Transportation Commission; Commissioner, Los Angeles County Local Government Services Commission; and Board Member, State of California Board of Barbering & Cosmetology.

Her professional memberships include: Member, Los Angeles County Bar Association Board of Trustees; Member, the Association of Workplace Investigators; Member, the California Minority Corporate Counsel Program; Member, the National Bar Association; Member, the California Black Lawyers Association; Member, the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles; and Member, the Langston Bar Association. She also served as the Diversity Chair for the Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association (ABA) Torts & Insurance Practices Liability section.

Her non-profit board positions have included the Brentwood School Board of Trustees, the Los Angeles African American Women’s Public Policy Institute Board of Directors, the Ability First Board of Directors, and the Southwest Community College Foundation Board of Trustees.

Prior to starting the Reddock Law Group in 2011, Ms. Reddock-Wright headed the Southern California labor and employment law practice for Carroll, Burdick & McDonough, which merged with the national law firm Squire Sanders. Early in her career, she worked as an Associate for the national employment and labor law firm Jackson Lewis.

Ms. Reddock-Wright is a graduate of UCLA School of Law, Amherst College, and the Coro Foundation Fellowship in Public Policy and Public Affairs. She has been the recipient of numerous awards and has been named a Southern California Super Lawyer each year since 2011. Prior to 2011, she was named a Southern California Rising Star Attorney for several consecutive years. She also had the distinct honor of being a German Marshall Fellow to Europe (traveling to Brussels, France, Germany, Poland, and Spain), and a civic fellow to Israel with the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles.

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama and Compton, California, Ms. Reddock-Wright believes in “doing well by doing good,” and this is how she lives her life. She is deeply committed to her family and community.
